I enjoy refining my communication skills by writing profiles for 78209 Magazine. In addition to keeping the prose flowing, the best part is meeting and learning about new people in our community.
Theory Proven
There are many excellent coffee shops in San Antonio. I happen to frequent Theory Coffee because I can walk to it from my house. I got to know owner, Mark Vollmer, when ordering my usual half-caff Americano, while also picking up an occasional bag of coffee beans or one of their delicious pastries (that often sell out fast). Writing this article gave me a greater appreciation for Mark the entrepreneur. The work he’s done to grow his business is impressive, plus he’s very supportive of other small business owners in the food industry. Theory Coffee is very active on Instagram. https://78209magazine.com/theory-coffee/
From L.A. to ‘09
For a Neighbor profile, I interviewed Carlos Platero, who’s a Los Angeles transplant. Carlos says he loves the tranquility of Alamo Heights compared to L.A. Carlos is a talented entrepreneur in the home services and design industries. He’s a really interesting person. His success is centered on his unique eye for detail and 110% commitment to client satisfaction. He opened Platero Creative Group on Broadway Ave. and does business in Austin and North Carolina but loves life in 78209. https://78209magazine.com/meet-your-neighbor-carlos-platero/
